Star star star star star 15 November 2023 Guess to recap and stay in line with the Yelp rating - I'm not a fan (4 stars) of buffets but felt it was an ok (3 star) experience. On each visit, I never saw an empty platter or serving dish. The troughs or trays were constantly filled - including the coveted crab legs, Sashimi and Sushi. If you look at my pics, I didn't even try half of what's offered. Because of the nature of service in a buffet, I can't ask for more than that. Not that I needed much other than refills as it's a buffet meaning it's go get your own food - but my plates were cleared quickly and I didn't have to ask more than once for refills. Service, for me personally, was pretty good. One nice touch - so there's not one person responsible for the tab, the staff made an arrangement to allow each person to pay their individual bill with an set gratuity due to the group size. Our group wasn't that large, only about 20 people. Large groups can definitely be accommodated. The restaurant looks newish and is very spacious. I can't speak for what it would look like on the weekends. At least there was on a Tuesday night at 7PM. ![]() I don't know the name of the plaza however, know that that means tons of parking. It's why I was at Shiki Seafood earlier this week. If you know me, you know I prefer quality over quantity, however I do make exceptions a friend's birthday makes the cut. Star star star star_border star_border 15 November 2023 found a coupon in the weekly ad mailings! Look for a coupon to offset the regular price. It also still feels new with upscale furnishings, reminding me a little bit of Las Vegas buffets. The place used to be Hometown Buffet, so it's definitely bigger than Gold Hibachi and Kami, so it didn't feel too crowded. ![]() Can't speak for how busy it gets on a weekend. The birthday buffet dinner took place on a Tuesday night, and the place was not too busy. In addition, there's an automatic upcharge for groups of 10 or more. For a higher price, the food should be more delicious and noteworthy. In my opinion, Gold Hibachi in Alhambra and Kami in San Gabriel pretty much offer the same food choices and quality for a slightly cheaper price. The lunch price is $16 and the dinner and weekend price is $25. Moreover, it's really the price that's making me not want to come back. Pretty good selection since the place is huge, but no dishes really stood out to me. I love going to buffets, but sadly, I don't think I'll be back. Got to try Shiki Seafood Buffet recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. Star star star_border star_border star_border 2 December 2023
